This project entails crafting a cohesive brand identity for the Design Program at York University. The program delves into various aspects of design, exploring how meaning is constructed, interpreting signs and symbols, analyzing text and images, and understanding codes and cultures. The aim is to empower students to express their creative potential through idea generation and the manipulation of typography. The main focus was to include the program identity and York University in the design and create three connected promotional posters and cards.
As stated by the Design at York program, the design process consists of gathering research and inspiration from many different disciplines. 'Design Your Future' captures this metaphor with colour and custom typography. The curves and transitions in the type were inspired by subway maps which resonates with York's metaphor.
